Most people think of fairy tales, legends, and folklore as something designed for children, bedtime stories passed down from generations to help them go to sleep at night. But I believe that these stories play a deeper role in our lives, an often unappreciated role. I've argued that folklore say more about us as a people than history books filled with facts. They hold our dreams. They hold our ideals.
