The River was such an easy book to become engrossed in. Peter Heller writes characters that leap off the page, including the Canadian wilderness.
This is a book about friendship, family, and integrity, set against the urgency to escape a wildfire that chases the men down river. When things get hot, they boil in this fast paced thriller with a western vibe.
This was the best book I’ve read this year.
