Actually shines most when it moves away from mcveigh and leans into the historiography of late century intelligence ops, parapolitics, and midwestern radical subcultures. Beautiful sprawling picture of the hollowing out of the American heartland and replacement with something bleak, nonsensical, and purposeless.
