Eek! I can totally understand! I love your channel and videos!! I am a bit of a rambler and this book is on my TBR. So maybe I can help. So, I grew up on a fiber farm...think angora goats and llamas, chickens and rabbits...so ours were all our babies. But I knew people who had cattle and other livestock animals, to include bulls. And have been around a rodeo or two, I am not a fan of the kids riding sheep one bit. But those rodeo bulls? Many and probably most get treated better than domestic housecats, to keep them in the top condition for rodeos, which requires training since bulls don't buck like that naturally. Of course you always have some bad owners, bad people everywhere and such. Everyone I knew who had bulls treated them like puppies. It was so weird. Here is this 2000lb animal with horns that's called 'Babycakes' getting cooed at. The whole process of going to rodeos with bulls was really like parents taking a child to a ballet recital. It really opened my eyes seeing it firsthand. There are vets and advocates for the bulls. Cause, I was worried more for the 2000lb animal than anyone else, lol. I'm that person. And, I never knew this, but before the big event, the rider can go see the bull that they randomly draw and give them food and pet them, chat with them before they do the ride. And like, the bulls usually arrived a day or two before the show with their teams, where they get a full medical check with the vets and are observed. Which made me feel better. I do not know how it works in Canada though, which I hear is where these books are set. But they're pretty on the ball up there, so I would imagine that it would be similar.
