Getting to say that Anne Curzan was my professor (and that I sat in her office and she let me borrow a book from her shelf) is the most gigantic flex for me. Her book is like a trophy on my shelf. She will change your entire view of the English language and remind you that speaking and writing is not a competitive sport. It's a language that deserves to be explored and deeply realized. English is not shallow.
