A nice small chapter on infallibility, and the declared lack of general infallibility in the documents of the second Vatican council. Yes, declared the author, infallible truth is contained therein, but that degree is achieved in previous authoritative teaching by the supreme apostolic authority. The bishops at the Council were notably reluctant to define anything dogmatically.
