Well I don't know a-hole... how about you already gave up when you couldn't remember her, and instead of spending time getting to know her again, you spent your time flirting with your nurse, who is a disgusting human being as well. So Brandon shows up, tells her he loved another woman. Now he's got a "cured" diagnosis and wants to ask Fanny to give him another chance as he thinks to himself he wasn't the one who'd been devastated. He'd been sick, but he found love and happiness.
