I first owned this book when I was a grad student in ancient history more than 40 years ago. I didn’t read it all then and won’t read it all now—browsing the interesting stuff. Teaching world history, also more than 40 years ago, I loaned my copy to a student to read the enclosed version of Gilgamesh for a class book report.
