I also have always resonated with the two women that are interviewed that went into reporting and found it more challenging than fulfilling. It reinforces how feminism benefits from allowing different choices for women in the workplace and not a binary of either always working under men or that all women need to be managers or subject matter experts if they just want a 9-5 where they aren’t being discriminated at

I forgot there’s a whole section about the 2010 Newsweek Article getting critiqued by Jezebel for not including Women of Color in the historical or contemporary issues with workplace discrimination. And I know it’s Lynn Povich standing up for the three new Newsweek staff, but it’s actually okay to receive and process critiques from a more leftist org than yourself when there are still systemic issues

Really enjoyable Reread. I read this first in 2018 right out of college and I enjoyed how well Povich connects the contemporary experiences of women Newsweek workers of 2010 with the two initial lawsuits against Newsweek in 1970 and 71.
