Ooh she's just referenced the NLA fellowship she used to write "falling out of love with ivan southall" (described as: a "poorly paid short term fellowship interstate"). She has a huge bill she can't afford and is airbnb-ing her house to cover costs. The guest then went through her drawers and got the paperwork (passport, birth certificate, etc.) to steal her identity. OMG! This is the stuff I'm here for.

Okay so she got a fellowship (google tells me it's worth $33k) and that's how she was supporting herself while she's taking a year off from work. No wonder she had hardly any super. I'm puzzled as to how she owned a house. She doesn't seem like the type to commit to a mortgage or anything long term.

I'm reading all the books for clues about her financial situation, omg. In the opening pages of this one we find out she had her identity stolen and some lady applied for credit in her name (they caught the person responsible). To recover from this, the author decides to TAKE A YEAR OFF WORK. UNPAID. (Presumably this is before she was "voluntarily separated" from them.) How is she paying for her life???
