who told her that to die in childbirth was better than contraception and abortion, surely you can do better than beg for the right to personhood. rn the book doesn't even really protest against the "other women have it worse" rhetoric. thank you for sayng feminists still got married and still looked like blow-up dolls, god forbid they did not fit the white, petite, soft-spoken definition of woman.

this book is like a horror movie
it's so. insane to read about this very specific, post-wwii time in america, when middle class meant you could support a truly extravagant lifestyle on a single salary, and remember that while american propaganda worked so well it was persuading women that it was natural to not be a person, slavery was alive and well.
