Arena is one of my favorite episodes so imagine my surprise when the author omits all the prelude (at SF base) with the Gorn in hills in hiding Before the chase the stop and transport to arena.

In Achilleate episode, Mr Spock doesn't deduce enterprise should go to Deneva's settled planet... instead, they'd received a distress call and found the ship flying into their star... This author appears to make the setup to stories a low priority... will see how Blish handles the barf bags next... I do recall Spock doing an analysis of Insanity patterns crossing the Federation but there is a definite focus problem.

So I'm disappointed... the author apparently spent much less time carefully reproducing the Star Trek episodes (as in book 1).. too bad.
