Listening to the audiobook was a mistake, I can’t stop laughing! The scenes that are supposed to be sexy just end up cracking me up because the VA is trying too hard to use a deep sexy voice for Verity’s husband, Jeremy. Also, the MC whose name I forget most of the time is so thirsty for Jeremy that it’s annoying.

The audiobook does make it a quick read, I’ll give it that. It’s not particularly high literature (not that it needs to be when Verity’s manuscript is… largely the same thing every chapter) so even if I zone out, I don’t feel the need to rewind. There’s a plot, sort of? But it also feels like it’s too short. I still feel like I know nothing about Verity.

I’m already regretting this. The main character is bland and everyone’s names are weird in true Hoover fashion. Also, the four-year-old seems more like 8 or 9. Let’s see how this goes…
