So initially the book starts out very slow but by the time we get to Ari's third pov chapter everything is bam pow! I'm a little saddened that our two MCs start out as friends with the potential to become lovers but end up inadvertently becoming enemies because of unforeseen circumstances. I'm loving this world building as well so far and the alchemy aspect of everything.
