This feeling. It will pass. I know it will. In the end you’ll just seem
ordinary to me.

Nine more chapters left, what a breeze to read. The choice to not punctuate direct speech is cloying but I've read enough to not mind as much. All I hope is that it reaches a neat resolution, I do not think this is a book that would benefit from uncertainty , it would make it seem undercooked . Whereas a conclusive ending in my opinion would soften its edges and justify some of its questionable vagueness

''In the end, I tell him, it’s this. Your life—anyone’s life—it just doesn’t
belong to you, does it?
He is silent for a very long time and then he says, No. It doesn’t. But
you still have to act as if it does.''

''WHEN YOU LIVE RIGHT BANG UP CLOSE TO SOMEONE, IT can be
hard to get far enough back to see them clearly. Or maybe your eyes do
look, but your brain can’t take it in. Like you never notice your own kids
growing, or your own baby getting proper hair.''
