i’m reading the start of Descartes Meditations, where he clears the slate. he stops trusting his senses, realizes dreams can copy real life, and even imagines a sneaky demon could fool him about simple math… he’s tossing out every belief that might be shaky so he can build all knowledge back up on one solid. very odd concepts on life haha.
