I would not want to live as one of these characters because they are held captive for multiple years, they are brutally raped by the Gardener and his son nearly every day, and are forced to receive tattoos of butterfly wings on their backs, which essentially mark them as the Gardeners property.

I would not like to live as one of the characters in this book. The characters are girls between the ages of 16 and 20 who are kidnapped and forced to live in the "Garden", where a man known as the Gardener keeps them captive until they turn 21, which is when he would replace all of the blood in the 21 year old's body with a chemical that helps preserve them, and encase their body in a resin for the same reason.
