The more I think about it, the more struck I am by how one-dimensional the characters are and how hard it is to grasp hold of them or the plot. One of the characters is quite literally dying but the stakes are…where?
I can’t bring myself to care about either of these characters. And despite having access to both of their POVs I feel as though I barely know either of them. It’s frustrating.

“I’ll just kill them a little.” - lol
Every once in a while I get settled into a chapter and a bit of dialogue or some other detail reminds me why I like this author so much. There’s still a lot here to like, but it does get buried under the dick and ball jokes.

I’m really struggling to get into this, and stay in. Every time I start to get my bearings another made up word crops up that means absolutely nothing to me, even with context clues. And as much as I loved the author’s humor in her previous work, the barrage of body humor is getting increasingly off-putting.

The terms used to define the world in this story are difficult to grasp, but the humor keeps things moving along.
