This was pretty cool when I read it, around the 8th grade. We dove into the Lottery pretty deeply for that age group. How are the rest of her stories?

It’s an enjoyable book, not quite what I was expecting, which was maybe more horror. It is, but a different kind and Jackson’s writing was pleasant and full of some older words and current words with some older spelling. Like: coöperatively. The Lottery was pretty great, definitely memorable. But there were stories that felt relevant even for today, like “After You My Dear Alphonse,” and “Flower Garden,” to name just a few.
