is it possible for a book to give you stockholm syndrome? because this book is growing on me…

I’m normally a fan of super dense, wordy, and long books (I literally JUST finished Shelley’s The Last Man), but lowkey this is testing me…I think it’s because I find the characters to be rather one note and uninteresting. If it weren’t for the excellent narrator of the audiobook, I may have tapped out by now. However, I hear it picks up around page 600, so I shall push on through!

slow going….really lush in a way that feels timeless, but it does drag a bit.
