Honestly? I don’t believe this is a kids book. There’s definitely some sexual innuendoes with the man who lives with Nancy. But also poor Oliver he just went from one shitty life to kidnapped into another shitty life, and then the bookstore guy is treating him like a real kid. and somebody knows who his mom is.
