I keep returning to Henri Nouwen's record of his six month retreat with the Trappists in the Genesee Valley in central NY. It's not so much my familiarity with the monastery or their delicious bread from my time living in central NY, but I think it more to do with the awful state of the world and the anxiety I feel living in this moment. This time I'm rereading by month and I'm about to finish July.
