....Alexanders death would never occur. I thoroughly enjoyed this work...when initially I CRINGED to discover so many characters to follow. Very well done.

Im enjoying a slowly-developing love triangle between. Octavians daughter, Julia..Marcellus, son of Octavia, sister to Octavian...and Selene. While it appears that young Marcelles is involved in a very dangerous game...as Octavian's designated heir. It is expected that Julia and Marcellus will marry. But with these under currents it doesnt seem likely...

Little Ptolemy dies on the sea voyage to Rome. Selene and Alexander, just 10 years of age, must fend for themselves with no one to rely on. Selene's gift for drawing is discovered, as well as Alexanders knowledge and affinity for horses. The twins live with Octavians family. He intends to wed them both to a wealthy Roman when they come of age.. but it seems both will become considerably useful to him.

I'm behind as usual posting my updates. Its was interesting to me that in this partial description of Cleopatras life, she bore 3 children: Selene, Alexander, the twins and baby, Ptolemy. After Queen Cleopatra and their father Antony are dead, the 3 children become the prisoners of Octavian, Emperor of Rome.

A 27-person character list...A geographical map...An area map and a time line all BEFORE the first written paragraph?? This is the second book selection I've made with what may require taking notes. But I relish a good Egyptian tale and in less than 4 pages, Cleopatra does not diaappoint.
