Coming back to one of my favourite authors. The second essay, about politics, is interesting in light of today. It harks from that now quaint time when Dan Quayle's malapropisms were extraordinary. He talks of the Clinton-Brush election and I recall I was at university then, and it was around then that I discovered John Irving's novels.
