I don’t update the individual books I’m reading often, but this book calls for it. It has been a long time since a book has made me sit back after closing it and really consider what the hell I just read. In isolation, the plot, the characters, and the writing are easily digestible, but together they create a complex and unsettling experience that reminds me of the first time I ever read McCarthy’s The Road.
