Started reading this aloud to the kids because it was recommended by a well-read friend. The main character, Milo, is a boy who suffers from constant boredom, a familiar plight around my house. The first chapter felt like Roald Dahl to me (a high compliment!). Of course, the kids asked for another chapter so that they could find out if the tollbooth cures Milo’s boredom, and, of course, I made them wait.
