book is so fire until she randomly violently reminds me that this was written in the 2020s. the language just edges too articulately woke in a way that feels so jagged. like Oh and here is where her moral opinion intrudes. ntm the * and the random “when they looked back on this time” LET ME BREATHE. pretty good so far. perhaps i am too biased against ms kuang! i definitely see her real love of languages and the worldview coming through real real clearly, but i’m an aspiring academic and certified wannabe myself so i get it. i enjoy it. sick and interesting so far (said RELUCTANTLY with CONFLICTING EMOTIONS OVER MY RELUCTANCE and MY HEAVY WHITE GUILT)
