This books starts off talking about loss. I almost put it down as my body was so tense. Then I read

“What I realised, as I became more and more enraged by these relational exchanges, was just how sickeningly agreeable I was all the time. I would deny my true feelings to avoid any awkwardness and to ensure nobody else felt bad”

I relate too much to this paragraph to not at least try to sit with my discomfort
