Iliad finished: So different than I expected and I thoroughly enjoyed this journey. I did not realize just how much the gods were meddling in literally everything and find that so fascinating but also diminishes mortal characters’ heroism to me. At times it felt like the whole battle for Troy was just a board game for the gods. What a relief when Achilles finally emerges and boy is that guy treasured.
