“I’m never going to feel the same way for someone else.”

“Would you miss me, if you didn’t have me anymore?”

“It’s not like this with other people.”

Both instances, this sentence has made me implode.

“I don’t find it obvious what you want.”

“Life offers up these moments of joy despite everything.”

“But I hate it here, and now I can never go back. I mean, those friendships are gone. I can never get that life back.”

“But that was their world then. Their feelings were suppressed so carefully in everyday life, forced into smaller and smaller spaces, until seemingly minor events took on insane and frightening significance.”

As we grow older, the things of our past we paid no mind to come back. They were more important than we realized. Remembering the fun, love, fighting, growing. In memories, life feels like a fantasy.

“Is the world such an evil place, that love should be indistinguishable from the basest and most abusive forms of violence?”
