💔 that chapter I just finished, when I realized where all the hints where headed without the author explicitly stating anything, oof.

Lee smiled. "My father said she was a strong woman, and I believe a strong woman may be stronger than a man, particularly if she happens to have love in her heart. I guess a loving woman is almost indestructible."

Ok, Cathy is actually terrifying.

“…Go through the motions, Adam.”
“What motions?”
“Act out being alive, like a play. And after a while, a long while, it will be true.”
“Why should I?”…
Samuel was looking at the twins. “You’re going to pass something down no matter what you do or if you do nothing. Even if you let yourself go fallow, the weeds will grow and the brambles. Something will grow….Go through the motions, Adam.”

This exchange between Lee and Samuel was really good and profound.
