I've started book #2 in this omnibus & thrilled to keep going because book #1 was fabulous (a reread).
Book has already covered deep topics like freedom, slavery, & mental illness is a wonderfully raw & honest way. Annie's Dad, Patrick Henry has a law practice but begins to come & go b/c he's a representative of Virginia in the House of Burgesses (SO interesting), says his famous speak, & Annie stays in trouble.

Book #2 completed - many changes and hard days in the colonies during this time. Annie is maturing & learning to be brave in the scary reality of the mounting tensions. The bravery & faith of Patrick Henry portrayed in the book is wonderful. Wow, the sacrifices.
"Once we have freedom, men will die to keep it."
"Yes, child, I'll be careful. But I know that my life is in God's hands, not my own. We must not worry."
