Eric sees Tris let her mother go and tries to shoot her. Four jumps in and knocks Eric to the ground. Four, Tris and her mother hide in the alleyway.

Tris wakes up to all the Dauntless initiates walking aimlessly out the door. Four tells Tris to follow them because the leader Eric is trying to see who is Divergent. Tris and Four see many people be killed for not following the others.

Tris starts the second part of her simulation. She is seen struggling through her first two fears but then gets the hang of it.

After Tris finishes her simulation her and Four go to celebrate. While Tris is sleeping she is attacked by four people. She throws one of them into the pit while the others snap out of what they were doing and leave. The next morning Christiana is crying because her boyfriend Will was dead in the pit.

Tris starts her second part of her initiation were she must do a simulation to face her fears. After she is done we find out she has the second least fears with seven. She finds out Four is called that because he had four fears.

Four helps Tris train by helping her fight and shoot. Tris starts to realize she likes Four. Tris and Four are now hanging out more and being romantic.

Tris and Christiana go celebrate them making the cut by getting tattoos. Tries gets a raven for every faction she's in.

Four is helping Tris train and she feels she is improving. At the day of the first cuts Tris barely makes it in.

Dauntless training consists of fighting and shooting guns. Tris does not move when she is boxing, so Four has to help her.

Four leads the new Dauntless to and underground bunker called the "Pit". Four explains that Dauntless initiation is like a competition.
