As a reader of BL for over 20 years, it was fun to immediately see the tropes the mc refers to in such a deadpan way. The format and simple concept stagnate, though, and I’m not sure if it has a value beyond a single volume since it never moves our mc forward. I was even getting tired half way through this volume.
