Andrew McNeely No, Sandeen’s primarily exploring the theological roots of fundamentalism, which he locates in the 19th century. It’s a narrowly focused study.

If you’re looking for scholarship, historian Matthew Avery Sutton has written the book on McPherson’s life and ministry, including the four square gospel movement. He makes helpful interventions in the historiography of fundamentalism. Josh McMullen’s book on tent revivalism also has some material on McPherson’s revivals, which also makes important interventions.
