Once 50 or so pages in, I was struck by how similar her thoughts and actions were to my own at the same age. What an odd feeling that I am older than she was, and view her writings with such a lens - while simultaneously I am so very much younger. Nonetheless, I found that it has dragged much less from pages 150 onwards (notably once we've begun the topic of love and romance).
