There may have been a lot going on at the start, but all the loose threads were tied together nicely in the end. There's a lot of symbolism in this book as well as a happy ending, which I enjoyed as this book has a very dark theme.

I think I can understand about the reviews on this book now. There's too much going on. It's like the main character (or author) has a short attention span and can't decide what the main plot point should be.
First, we have Banana Man, then we have Tracy's relationship with a boy named Foley and with her boyfriend Adam, a possible rape situation, family issues with her father and brother. It just goes on and on...
