“If you read Deut. 6:6-7 carefully, the strong sense of memorization will come clearly to the fore. What does it mean to have these “words” on our hearts? I’m not saying that memorization is either necessary or sufficient to fulfill this, but memorization of God‘s words is strongly implied and immensely helpful. How can you talk about God continually with your children if you can’t recite the content?”
