“it says nothing but gives everything”

i love the descriptions of how a scenic designer shouldn’t give everything away to a story without being to scarce. give the actors an environment where they are able to tell the story, not a set that tells it itself. but it also shouldn’t be a barren concept unless the show is as wildly conceptual.
