I've read Luther Arkwright six months ago, or something like that. It was my third try and this time I decided to reach the end no matter what and, boy, did it pay off! :O I wouldn't do it justice writing a review here, you can find some good reviews via google (even a thesis or two on the subject) but I am going to recommend it to everyone interested in early graphic novel experiments.
