Kingfisher pumps put books even more frequently than Tchaikovsky. Let’s see what this one is. Since my library was polite enough to give a 7-day audio loan as opposed to usual 3 weeks I feel like I’d better hurry up and read it. Especially since I tend yo have a soft spot for Kingfisher’s soft humor and odd focus on plants :)

Heh, we'll see how our reactions compare. I don't appreciate Kingfisher's "humour," though. It's forced and she overdoes it.

I’m halfway through, and I’m enjoying it. I suppose if her sense of humor doesn’t speak to you, then it would be hard to enjoy the book, since she uses it quite a lot. It tends to work for me though, so her books are usually nice and comfortable reads, like putting on a soft pair of pajamas on a rainy day 😅I also am getting a kick of the whole poisons angle — her heroines tend to have quite an obsession with something odd, and it tends to crack me up.
