I ADORE Bernadette Mayer <3 Talk about intertextuality - this manuscript talks to itself. Recurring mentions of Milton, Hawthorne, etc. Unruly poems that take up space on the page, meandering, inconsistent punctuation (do I agree w/this? Not sure) and un/serious.
I really adore "Lookin Like Areas of Kansas" ("New England is awful/The winter's five months long"), "The Olympics," "Essay," and "Sloppy Love."
