Perfect segue from the first book into the second. Rin is portrayed as a completely different person than she was before the war and I’m enjoying her revenge-driven perspective.

Seeing the civil war starting to brew is both exciting and nerve wracking. Kuang’s voice and ability to instill such feelings is really drawing me deeper into the book. The imagery of the Autumn Palace is beautifully crafted.
