-also, just when you think they’re about to have their first forward honest conversation it gets messed up

-when the chapter opened up with Marianne’s new bdsm relationship I was like seriously girly!!!!
-but then, okay she mentions that she’s trying to get away from her family and she realizes she’s not better than everyone else. She immediately leaves the guys apartment and dumps him. So like I kinda want to root for her 😭 like finally I can work with something

This book is giving Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus by Taylor Swift

Marianne’s family and those she surrounds herself with have made her feel like she’s weird and worthless, and incapable of being loved. I feel like Connell wants to fix that sometimes or like he’s drawn to this. And it’s just not healthy for either of them 😭

Ch.13 Jamie is awful and abusive and she continues to be with him
-also wtf they’re both cheating on their partners 🙄
-Hellen was a bit annoying with the Marianne comments even though she said she didn’t have a problem with their past. Girl your insecurities are coming out
-the chapter touched on their class differences
-she finally opened up to him about her family

Ch.13
-omg there was so much in this chapter. I can’t even wrap my head around all of it. Okay some things that stood out. Connell admits he’s the better version of himself with Helen. But Marianne sucks him in to her world and he can be like her and he feels like they’re two misunderstood people together 🙄. Idk I feel like sometimes he tries so hard with her and he needs to stop

Oh and he said he loved this girl after being together for 6 weeks? Please Connell 🙄

Ch.12
-she doesn’t like her boyfriend!! Please girl leave him alone
-Connell reveals he’s seeing someone and she flips! But she doesn’t have a right too
-then everything comes out about him wanting to move on and she thought he was dumping her last summer and the miscommunication is heart breaking
