This book has a lot of background information about one of the regular main subsidiary characters, Lotty, the doctor and close friend of VI.

I kept the news of Radbuka’s stalking the Loewenthals, and Lotty’s disturbing behavior, to myself—Morrell didn’t need worries about me to take with him into the Taliban’s world.

I looked at the screen for a bit, as if it might magically reveal some other information, but eventually I remembered that no one was paying me to find out anything about Sofie Radbuka and settled down to some of the on-line searches that make up the better part of my business these days.

In that brief window of distraction, I launched myself at Rossy. I whirled, kicking him hard in the stomach, turning again as he lashed out at me to kick him on the kneecap. He was punching at me, but he wasn’t a street fighter. I was. I ducked underneath his flailing arms and butted him square in the solar plexus. He gagged and backed away.
