It’s sad that she never gets to really focus on learning for the test. I don’t think she actually wanted to be a housewife but she had limited choices.

I really like the character Abhi - when he realised how happy his wife was about the fridge, he pretended that he’d bought her the bigger one.
I think the narrator not wanting to share her diagnosis with her family is so understandable when she explain that she doesn’t want to be treated like a ‘guest’

Character and their relationships with others seem really realistic - Mala snapping at Sachin and not thanking him for the cups or Abhi ‘burrowing like a scared creature’ - found the first chapter interesting
