Besides my fervent admiration for Alice Paul, this book interests me for its personal connection as well. Dr. Keene was one of my favourite professors in graduate school and was the chair of thesis committee. At the time, he was co-authoring this book and we spent many Thursday mornings discussing feminist theory, women's history, and the suffrage movements in the US, UK, and France.
