Jake tried to punch Cohn! to be honest, I said that it was boring but as I read it more I’m realizing I love these characters. When Brett asked if Jake still loved her, I felt sad for Jake, and when he left Brett and the Bull fighter it felt like MY heart had been broken. It might be a slow story but the slow pace where we learn who each character is and all their personalities, it’s growing on me.

bro… they were gonna fight… finally some action and Jake SEPARATES THEM!!!!! I am thoroughly upset. I need them to start punching each other. Every single time they get drunk they start arguing and almost fight but then they stop. I need them to fight. Now.

Also, I said at the start the writing style was similar to Fitzgerald, but now that I’m further in the book I am noticing more differences between the two. Hemingway’s sentences are much shorter and blunt, whereas Fitzgerald’s sentences were longer, with more flowery language.

reading this is making me overstimulated I cannot imagine being in this environment oh my goodness… like the fireworks, drums, large crowds, dancers, oh no I couldn’t do it… oh and it goes for seven days count me OUT!
