Arthur Dent is like your average Joe getting beaten up by life, first on a human scale, now a galactic one. Easily relatable as circumstances beyond his control toss him around like a ping pong ball. Ford Prefect has insider knowledge of the galactic system, but will that help? The characters are great in this over the top absurd farce. It’s really funny but with sad undertones. So far it kind of reminds me of “ Slaughterhouse Five “,.

Anticipating your question, “ how so?” Because they use elements of science fiction and absurdity in its metaphor illustrating flaws in human nature.
