Interesting that there’s a prolonged period where the Lecter connection is not discussed then suddenly Lecter knows exactly what happened and has a letter ready. Tragic that Will seems to have lost it all from Lecter to Dolarhyde via Lecter. Finally Lecter wins by convincing Graham of what he’s said all along
“Graham knew too well that he contained all the elements to make murder; perhaps mercy too

The correlation of the blind woman and dolarhyde is him imitating art life in life , the dragon painting he thinks is him has a women who is her and he is “becoming the dragon” the story so far is very in-cohesive like there are two stories fighting for attention as opposed to one story with a goal. The concept of the story is interesting in theory.

Will is putting the pieces together (he found the connection between the families)

Interesting that the book is supposed to be about Hannibal Lecter and Will but it’s just small pieces. Hannibal knows how to get to will like convincing him, he knows he is really like him deep down. Also though not by his hands Lecter tried to plant in wills head he knew he’d get Freddy Lounds killed

The plot of Dolarhyde and the blind woman seems misplaced currently like unless something happens with her later it was absolutely pointless.

Dolarhydes Childhoods stories like much of the book before has parts that are well written and some parts with unnecessary extremism especially the bed wetting part I get it’s necessary to make him traumatized to try to give a story that lays the framework for the evil that manifests in him later in life but it could have been more tasteful.

What happened to Freddy Lounds is quite insane He is an insufferable character who knows no bounds but this is very unexpected

Interesting dichotomy between Lecter and Will like him getting his address, calling Molly, and sending the tooth fairy I know after there’s a prequel as to why but it’s odd that Lecter is obsessed with will not because because he’s mad he caught him but obsessed because he thinks he’s like him and his mind jumps to places only they know I guess that’s the premise of this story and the ones that follow

- It is intrinsically of its time in verbiage
-There’s sprinkled unnecessary inappropriate details/ language that are very out of place and add nothing to the plot
- Will doesn’t like Lecter because He is afraid that he’s right and he is like him it’s why he quit the FBI and started a new life not because of trauma or fear but because the realization he’s only really like the people he catches
